MSCU is Returning to School!
The Montessori School of Champaign-Urbana is returning to school and we need our community’s support more than ever!
We are so excited to be returning to school and starting the fall semester on August 17, 2020, and we have spent the long months of closure planning and preparing to make our return during the pandemic as safe and prepared as possible! We know you may have many questions about what some of our new health and safety procedures will look like for your child when s/he returns. Please check out the information and videos below and share them with your children so we can all return to school prepared and at ease with what to expect!
Reassure Your Children
We encourage you to remind and reassure your children that the staff members they will see wearing masks every day are still the same smiling faces under the masks as they are with the masks on!
Dropoff & Pickup Procedures
Wondering how dropoff will look in the summer and fall? We’ll be asking families to use the car line only to drop off in the morning (no walkups for now, please), and we will be doing temperature and symptom checks at the door. Check out this video to find out more!
We will be protecting and caring for each other by practicing social distancing at school, including wearing masks for everyone ages 2 and older (except when eating and/or sleeping). Check out the videos to learn more about proper mask wearing and other social distancing expectations as we return to school!
Focus on Health & Hygiene
We will be intensifying our usual focus on health and hygiene even more in the coming months. Share these videos with your children so they can become familiar now with how they’ll be handwashing at school!
